PRP Facial Rejuvenation in Los Angeles, CA

      PRP Facial Rejuvenation Los Angeles

PRP, or platelet-rich-plasma, has been used for years to treat medical concerns such as muscle or tendon injuries. However, this therapy has recently also been discovered to have a range of cosmetic uses as well. PRP can be used as an effective facial rejuvenation technique to create a brighter, more youthful appearance.

      What is PRP?

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) treatments are performed to stimulate natural healing and growth within the body. During PRP treatment, blood is drawn and then run through a centrifuge, which concentrates platelets within the plasma, creating PRP. This is then injected or applied to the treatment area, triggering the body’s natural self-healing process.

During a PRP facial treatment, the platelet-rich plasma is injected or applied to the skin in order to stimulate collagen production, tightening and strengthening the skin. This addresses many various skin concerns, including:

      • Acne scars
      • Wrinkles and Fine Lines
      • Uneven skin texture
      • Scarring

The procedure takes about an hour to complete. Most patients can see results of collagen regeneration at about three months.

      PRP and Microneedling

PRP is often combined with microneedling treatments. This service can enhance microneedling, as the tiny wounds left behind after microneedling create channels allowing the PRP to more deeply saturate the skin. These combined procedures are effective in treating fine lines, wrinkles, stretch marks, acne or keloid scars, and stretch marks.

Who is a Candidate for PRP Facial Rejuvenation?

Because PRP is sourced from the patient’s own body, there are very few risks involved. However, patients should be in generally good health before receiving the treatment. The best candidates are nonsmokers, and patients should not take blood thinners if they wish to receive PRP treatment. Some chronic medical conditions will also disqualify you from PRP treatment. Dr. Sabour will determine whether you are a good candidate during a consultation.

      FAQ's

What should I do to prepare for PRP injection?

The most important thing to do prior to PRP injection is to come off any nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), Naprosyn (Aleve) and Diclofenac at least 1 week prior to the procedure as they effect the platelets function. It is advisable not to take them for up to two weeks following the procedure.
